Power for the Plains

We are investing more than $1.6 billion to upgrade and expand the transmission system in our Texas and New Mexico service area. As part of the Power for the Plains initiative, nearly 800 miles of new transmission lines have been constructed in New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma since 2011 and more than 700 additional miles are planned to be constructed through 2020. The updated power grid will support current and future economic growth, improve reliability, meet demand and provide new renewable energy outlets.
